The Vikings are a fan-fiction (fanon or fanfic) nation in Rise of Nations. They have the Power of the Open Seas, based on how the Vikings excelled at shipmaking and land discovery 500 years before Columbus.

Nation powers

  • All water on map explored and visible from the start of the game.
  • Fishermen created instantly, gather 50% more Food Food.jpg and Wealth Wealth.jpg.
  • Dock units heal at sea if not moving or being attacked (Military Research Military.png 4 required). When a Merchant gathers Citrus, healing time increased 100%
  • Docks are 25% harder to destroy, receive 50% refund when destroyed by an enemy, and garrisoned ships can attack from the dock.
  • Transport Ships containing non-military units are immune to attack from enemy ships, but can still be attacked by towers, forts, cities, and land units with ranged attack.
  • Woodcutters (Timber) Timber.jpg generate +2 Wealth Wealth.jpg each and increase dock unit production by 5%.
  • Granaries provide a bonus on its cities' national borders influence.

Unique Units

The Vikings excel at sea combat, but they also excel at plunder bonuses by destroying enemy buildings via many non-siege units. Vikings have the advantage of having visible water to better strategize transcontinental movement of combat units.

When a civilization advances to the Industrial Age Industrial age small.jpg, Vikings are weak against airstrikes; anti-aircraft units (such as Anti-Aircraft artillery and SAM Installations) have 30% less attack than other civilizations, but such units have 10% increased armor.

Viking Unique Light Infantry, Ancient Age Ancient age small.jpg - stronger than slingers with increased damage on enemy buildings.

Viking Wooden Longship

Viking Unique Ship, Classical Age Classical age small.jpg - stronger, increased range, and 50% faster than galleys.

Norse Cavalry

Viking Unique Cavalry, Medieval Age Medieval age small.jpg - equipped with swords and bows, Norse Cavalry can attack both close and long range, but are very ineffective on enemy buildings.

Viking Unique Infantry, Enlightenment Age Enlightenment age small.jpg- foot infantry with 100% increased range than assault infantry and 50% better accuracy, but weak vs cavalry and siege units.

Stridsvagen L-120

Viking Unique Modern Tank, Modern Age Modern age small.jpg - 100% more armor than main battle tank and very destructive towards enemy buildings.

Viking Unique Heavy Battleship, Information Age Information age small.jpg - heavy battleship with quick speed and high hit points with an advantage of resistance to forts and towers.
