Politics and government play a vital role in the development of your society. As such, a Senate, being where the ruling class may confer with its subjects, is a vital part of your civilian infrastructure.
First introduced in Thrones and Patriots, the Senate allows a nation to research Governments and creates the Patriot unit, a special General with additional abilities. Building the Senate in a city other than the current Capital will make that city the new capital.
A nation may build only one Senate. If a nation's Senate is destroyed or captured, it is allowed to create a new one. Razing a Senate is very slow, to prevent quickly razing it and building another Senate elsewhere when the capital comes under attack.
Nation powers[]
- The American Power of Innovation: Research Governments for free (they still require time to be researched, however).
- The Iroquois Power of Nation: The first Senate is built instantly and for free.
- The Maya Power of Architecture: The Senate has +25% hit points, built 20% faster and cost 25% less
Timber.
- The Persian Power of Ceremony: Have two capitals; the city where the Senate is built becomes the second capital alongside their first city. If the Senate is built in the first city, then the next city to be built or acquired will become the second capital.
Wonders[]
- The Taj Mahal increases the Senate's hit points by 100%.
- The Super Collider makes all technologies, including Governments, researched instantly.
Trivia[]
- Although all nations may only have one Senate of their own making at any given time, it is possible to capture and keep Senates from enemy nations (although the captured city with the Senate will NOT become a Capital).
- If you happen to have captured multiple cities with Senates, all Senate buildings must be dismantled before you can build another new one to move your capital.
