King's Longbowmen.png

King's Longbowmen are the British unique Foot Archer of the Medieval Age.png Medieval Age that replaces the standard Crossbowmen.

Compared to Crossbowmen, King's Longbowmen have +8 hit points, +1 attack strength, +2 attack range, and cost -10 Timber.png Timber, as well as doing -5% damage against all units except Heavy Infantry, against which they do +23.5%[note 1] damage.

King's Longbowmen are not only cheaper than Crossbowmen, but also the unit with the longest range of the age, even surpassing their line of sight, which allows them to keep out of their enemies' reach for longer and more effectively, even more so by their ability to sustain more damage. Despite this, if facing enemy Crossbowmen, they will be outmatched due to the higher projectile speed and superior attack animations of Crossbowmen.
