Hwarang are the Korean unique Foot Archer of the Ancient Age that replaces the standard Bowmen.

Overview

Compared to Bowmen, Hwarang have +7 hit points, +1 attack strength, and +1 armor, making them overall better suited for all roles.

Being the first Foot Archers avaliable for the Koreans, Hwarang are most adequate when fending off an Ancient Age rush, for they have the longest range, are strong against Heavy Infantry, and make excellent garrisons, as Foot Archers in general increase a building's garrison power more than other unit types. However, defending against a raid is another matter, for these are usually carried out by Light Infantry, which will make short work of them.
