Heavy Fire Lances are the Chinese unique Gunpowder Infantry of the Gunpowder Age that replaces the standard Arquebusiers.

Overview

Compared to Arquebusiers, Heavy Fire Lances have +2 attack range, -7 attack speed and +2 line of sight. Unfortunately due to slow projectile speeds and long attack wind-up animations, their average DPS is not significantly higher than that of Arquebusiers against most targets despite their faster attack speed.

Trivia

• Fire Lances, Heavy Fire Lances, Flaming Arrows, Heavy Flaming Arrows, and Flamethrowers are the only units that trigger a special burning death animation when killing enemy infantry units and civilians.
• Heavy Fire Lances actually have a higher base cost than the Manchu Musketeers which they upgrade to.
