Technical Information

University Knowledge Display Bug Show / Hide

After a player builds the Hanging Gardens, the Knowledge gathering rate displayed by that player's Universities when selected will be multiplied by roughly 4.125. This change is a visual bug only and the real gathering rate is unaffected. (e.g. A fully upgraded University filled with Scholars has a gathering rate of +175. If this Wonder is built, the displayed value would change to +722 instead.) The multiplier (~4.125) is affected by the gather rate (50) as set in rules.xml, and changing the value in that file correspondingly affects the extremity of the erroneous displayed gather rate.

Reverse engineering and patching of the game exe suggests that this may be because of the unique nature of the gathering bonus provided by the Hanging Gardens, as it's the only Wonder that provides a flat gather bonus rather than a percentage increase to a player's existing gather rate (excluding the Forbidden City, which uses different calculation functions because it's functionally a city).
