The Golden Horde is the Mongol unique Ranged Cavalry of the Enlightenment Age that replaces the standard Carabineer.
Overview[]
Compared to Carabineers, Golden Hordes do +60% damage against Light Infantry, and +45% damage against Gunpowder Infantry. They also fire faster, with an attack speed of 25 frames instead of 30, but like other horse archers of past ages, their projectiles move much slower than those from gunpowder weapons (projectile speed of 100 instead of 350).
Their innate ability as raiders, combined with their faster attack, makes Golden Hordes great counter-raiders as well. In addition, thanks to the Mongol Power of the Horde, Golden Hordes benefit from a 50% attrition reduction, train faster, cost less, and some will be trained for free and instantly when a Stable is built.
As with all other animal-borne cavalry units, the Golden Horde can garrison inside Forts, but not inside Towers.
