Unit Information | Game Strategies | History |
Fighter Aircraft are a class of units and type of Aircraft. The first Fighter Aircraft, the Biplane, becomes available in the Industrial Age.
Like Bomber Aircraft and Helicopters, Fighter Aircraft are built at the Airbase, with the production requiring both Wealth and Oil. Both Fighters and Bombers also operate from the Airbase and frequently need to return to the Airbase to refuel and repair. Fuel (technically it is craft) consumption while in the air is 1 unit per frame (15 per second) and refuel speed is 2 units per frame (30 units per second) for all types of Fighters.
Fighter Aircraft are effective against Aircraft and ground units, but fairly weak when attacking buildings. They can be countered with Anti-Aircraft units and structures, Fighter Aircraft and modern Light Ships.

Unit costs[]
Fighter Aircraft production cost increases progressively with every other Fighter Aircraft on the field or currently in production. The default increase is 2 Wealth and 2 Oil for the second unit created, increasing further with every new unit until the cost cap is reached, which for military units is of +125% their original base value.
Nation powers[]
- The American Power of Innovation: All aircraft, including Fighter Aircraft, are 20% cheaper.
- The Bantu Power of Migration: Fighter Aircraft do not require Military research to be upgraded.
- The German Power of Industry: All aircraft, including Fighter Aircraft, are created 33% faster. Each Airbase also comes with two free Fighter Aircraft.
Wonders[]
- The Statue of Liberty makes all aircraft, including Fighter Aircraft, upgraded for free.
- The Space Program makes all aircraft, including Fighter Aircraft, created 100% faster and are 50% cheaper.
