The Egyptians are one of the 18 nations in the original Rise of Nations. They have the Power of the Nile, which alludes to the importance of the Nile River in the ancient Egyptian civilization.

Power of the Nile[]

  • Start with a free Granary. Granary production upgrades are researched instantly and for free, once they become available.
    • When starting with Nomads option, the Egyptians won't get the free Granary, nor any compensation for it.
  • Food Commerce Limit +10%.
  • May build 7 Farms per City (instead of 5). Farms also generate +2 Wealth.
  • Wonders cost 25% less, can be built one age early, and may build a maximum of two per City (instead of one).
    • The 25% includes ramping cost.
    • The discount stacks multiplicatively with the discount from Marble.
  • In Conquer the World Campaign, receive one wonder card for free.

Unique units[]

In general, the Egyptians' unique units have the same basic stats compared to the standard units they replace. However, the Heavy Chariot actually has -1 armor than the standard Heavy Horse Archer. The Egyptian unique Ranged Cavalry has a 50% damage bonus against other Ranged Cavalry, including Armored Car and beyond, and Mahouts. The Egyptian unique Light Cavalry line has a 20% damage bonus against Light Horse, Light Cavalry, and Elite Light Cavalry (but not other Light Cavalry units).

Chariot
Egyptian Unique Ranged Cavalry, Classical Age - fast, ranged cavalry who can fire even while moving; particularly effective against all other Ranged Cavalry.

Light Camel
Egyptian Unique Light Cavalry, Classical Age - extremely fast and lightly armed melee troops; useful for catching enemy raiders. Slightly better against enemy Light Cavalry.

Heavy Chariot
Egyptian Unique Ranged Cavalry, Medieval Age - fast, ranged cavalry who can fire even while moving; particularly effective against all other Ranged Cavalry.

Camel Warrior
Egyptian Unique Light Cavalry, Medieval Age - extremely fast and lightly armed melee troops; useful for catching enemy raiders. Slightly better against enemy Light Cavalry.

Mameluke
Egyptian Unique Ranged Cavalry, Gunpowder Age - excellent gunpowder-armed raiders who can fire while moving; particularly effective against all other Ranged Cavalry.

Elite Camel Warrior
Egyptian Unique Light Cavalry, Gunpowder Age - extremely fast and lightly armed melee troops; useful for catching enemy raiders. Slightly better against enemy Light Cavalry.

Royal Mameluke
Egyptian Unique Ranged Cavalry, Enlightenment Age - excellent gunpowder-armed raiders who can fire while moving; particularly effective against all other Ranged Cavalry.
