The American style is one of the possible visual styles for units in Rise of Nations, used by the three prehispanic nations of Central and South America. Despite what the name may imply, it is not at all related to the American nation, which uses the European unit style. As with all other styles, the differences are purely cosmetic.
Trivia[]
- This unit style is, in many cases, a mishmash of South and Mesoamerican designs and equipment. Much like its complementary building style, it can be said to follow the "Mayincatec" stereotype so commonly seen in other strategy games and media in general. However, some units do display an appearance distinctively identifiable with either location/culture, specially Andean and Aztec in said cases.
- Some units (Marked in the gallery below with an asterisk*) share the same appearance with their European style counterparts. This is specially noticeable from the Industrial Age onwards.
- As with all other styles (minus most Asian style sailing ships), ship models are shared between styles.
